Second Meeting of the Commission for Cooperation between the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and the Chinese National People's Congress, Topic – Kosovo-Metohija
The second meeting of the Commission for Cooperation between the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and the Chinese National People's Congress was held today at the Chinese National People's Congress. The focus of the meeting was international law, preservation of territorial integrity and sovereignty, and in that context the question of Kosovo-Metohija. The officials also deliberated on the potentials of future economy and infrastructure development projects and exchanged agriculture, environmental protection, science, education and culture-related experiences.

Foreign Affairs Committee and Human and Minority Rights and Gender Equality Committee Members Meet with Chinese National People’s Congress Ethnic Affairs Committee Delegation
Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Prof. Dr Zarko Obradovic said that the delegation’s visit is one more step toward expanding cooperation between the parliaments of Serbia and China. He emphasized the excellent relations between the two countries, led by the two presidents, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Chinese President Xi Jinping. Obradovic also highlighted Serbia’s active role in the Belt and Road initiative and 17+1 cooperation process, evident in the many ongoing and completed Serbia-China projects.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Chairman of the Russian State Duma International Affairs Committee Leonid Slutsky emphasized the traditionally good bilateral relations, evidenced by the intense exchange of visits by the highest dignitaries. He reminded the attending that Belgrade will be hosting the fourth session of the Cooperation Commission of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on 3 June, dedicated to the promotion of parliamentary relations between the two countries.
