61st Sitting of the Committee on the Judiciary, Public Administration and Local Self-Government
At the sitting held on 10 June, the Committee on the Judiciary, Public Administration and Local Self-Government considered and unanimously accepted the High Judicial Council 2018 Annual Activity Report. The Committee also unanimously accepted the Proposal of the Decision on the election of a judge to judicial office for the first time, submitted by the High Judicial Council, and forwarded it to the National Assembly for consideration and adoption.

Intensifying Cooperation between Serbia and Saudi Arabia, Priority
Non-resident Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia H.E. Hani bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Mominah commenced the meeting by conveying the greetings of the members of parliament of Saudi Arabia and congratulated Ramadan. He said that parliamentary relations are essential for the continued development of the diplomatic relationship between the two countries and that he hoped the members of the National Assembly’s PFG with Saudi Arabia would visit the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia soon.

Gojkovic Opens PACE Committee on Equality and Non-Discrimination Meeting
Opening the meeting of the Committee on Equality and Non-Discrimination of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe in Belgrade, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Maja Gojkovic stressed that Serbia is dedicated to building a just democratic society and that national and cultural diversity are one of the highest social values which is why Serbia is more than ready to cultivate and keep them.

Gojkovic Opens Public Debate on Children’s Rights and Ombudsman Draft Law
Opening the public debate on the Draft Law on Children’s Rights and Children’s Ombudsman in the Serbian Assembly, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and Chairperson of the Committee on the Rights of the Child Maja Gojkovic said that Serbia is on the way to get an independent institution for the protection of children’s rights and round up the concept of children’s rights.
