Twenty-Seventh Sitting of the Finance Committee

At the sitting held on 14 May, the Finance Committee considered in principle the Bill on the Confirmation of the Contract between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Kingdom of Spain on Avoidance of Double Taxation Regarding Income and Property Tax, submitted by the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the State Audit Institution’s Activity Report for the period 1 January – 31 December 2008.A representative of the Ministry of Finance elaborated the Bill on the Confirmation of the Contract between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Kingdom of Spain on Avoidance of Double Taxation Regarding Income and Property Tax, stressing that it had been signed in March this year, and it pertains to the avoidance of double taxation of physical and legal entities in Serbia and Spain and cooperation of tax organs of the two countries.

Forty-Sixth Sitting of the Legislative Committee

At the sitting held on 12 May, the Legislative Committee members debated in principle the Bills on the proposed agenda for the Sixth Sitting of the First Regular Session of the National Assembly in 2009.The representatives of the submitters briefly outlined all the Bills for the Committee members, and the Committee unanimously stated that all the 59 Bills adhere to the Constitution and legal system of the Republic of Serbia.

Fourteenth Sitting of the Committee on Health and the Family

At the sitting held on 12 May, the members of the Committee on Health and the Family elected deputy Milan Dimitrijevic as the Committee’s representative in the delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia which will visit the Canadian Parliament between 31 May and 7 June this year.

Second Sitting of the Constitutional Issues Committee

Committee Chairperson, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic convened the second sitting of the Constitutional Issues Committee, held at the request of nine Committee members, deputies of the Democratic Party of Serbia, New Serbia and the Serbian Radical Party, on 11 May 2009. The sitting dealt with the only item on the agenda: Analysis of the fulfillment of obligations envisaged by the Constitution pursuant to article 15 of the Constitutional Law on Implementation of the Constitution of the Republic of Serbia.
