Fourteenth Sitting of the Committee on Health and the Family

At the sitting held on 12 May, the members of the Committee on Health and the Family elected deputy Milan Dimitrijevic as the Committee’s representative in the delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia which will visit the Canadian Parliament between 31 May and 7 June this year.



At the sitting held on 12 May, the members of the Committee on Health and the Family elected deputy Milan Dimitrijevic as the Committee’s representative in the delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia which will visit the Canadian Parliament between 31 May and 7 June this year.

The goal of the study visit is become acquainted with the Canadian Parliament’s work, particularly its surveillance role as this Parliament has developed a successful surveillance practice over the executive government. The National Assembly Delegation comprises representatives of the committees on Health and the Family, Finance and Gender Equality.

The visit is part of project “Parliament in Transition - strengthening the Serbian Parliament’s surveillance role”, realized by the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in cooperation with the United Nations Democracy Fund.

At the sitting, the Committee members launched an initiative along with the Gender Equality Committee, to draft a resolution against violence against women and children and submit it to the National Assembly for adoption.

The Committee sitting was chaired by Dr Paja Momcilov, Committee Chairman.
