    Seventy-Second Sitting of the Legislative Committee

    At the sitting held on 21 December, the Legislative Committee considered, in principle, the Bills included into the agenda for the Seventh Sitting of the Second Regular Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2009, Monday, 21 December 2009. The Committee adopted the proposal that the National Assembly should be forwarded the opinion that the Bills adhere to the Constitution and legal system of the Republic of Serbia.

    National Assembly Speaker and National Democratic Institute Programme Director in Serbia Sign Memorandum of Cooperation

    Today at the National Assembly House, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic and the Programme Director of the National Democratic Institute in Serbia, Thomas Kelly, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between the two institutions. The Memorandum of Cooperation enables the strengthening of all the parliament’s activities - representative and legislative, as well as its surveillance function.

    National Assembly Speaker talks to Ukrainian Ambassador

    Today, at the National Assembly House, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia , Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic received the Ambassador of Ukraine H. E. Viktor Nedopas. At the meeting, the officials discussed the activation of interparliamentary dialogue, not only on the level of parliament speakers, but also on the level of chairmen of both parliaments’ International Cooperation Committees.

    National Assembly Speaker Talks to OSCE Secretary General

    Today, at the National Assembly House, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia , Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic received OSCE Secretary General Marc Perrin de Brichambaut, in official visit to the Republic of Serbia on 16 and 17 December 2009. Regarding the announcement of a possible meeting between the OSCE Secretary General and the so-called officials of the so-called state of Kosovo, the NARS Speaker stated: “It is unacceptable for Serbia that a delegation of the OSCE Mission should meet the officials of the inexistent state of Kosovo”, focusing on the founding principles of the Mission.
