Sixth Sitting of the European Integration Committee
At the sitting held on 11 October 2016 and closed to the public, the European Integration Committee considered and gave a positive opinion to the Republic of Serbia negotiation position proposals for Chapter 25 – Science and Research and Chapter 26 – Education and Culture. The Committee also selected a delegation for the COSAC meeting and for the regional workshop on “Enhancing the role of parliamentarians in building effective counter-terrorist systems within a rule of law framework”.

Panel Discussion on Human Security in Media Content
The National Assembly House hosted a panel discussion co-organised by the Women’s Parliamentary Network and the Fund for Social and Democratic Initiatives (FoSDI) on “Human security in media content” where the participants were presented the results of public content research and spoke about the role of the education system in how the public perceives security.

Chairman of the Committee on Constitutional and Legislative Issues Djordje Komlenski Meets with the Chair of the Italian Chamber of Deputies Justice Committee Donatella Ferranti
The officials exchanged views about the improvement of legislation. Komlenski said that Serbia has made considerable progress in its reforms, primarily of the judiciary which, he said, was the backbone of a democratic society.

Third Sitting of the Committee on Education, Science, Technological Development and the Information Society
At the sitting held on 11 October 2016 and closed to the public, the Committee on Education, Science, Technological Development and the Information Society considered and gave a positive opinion to the Negotiating Position of the Republic of Serbia for the Intergovernmental Conference on the Accession of the Republic of Serbia to the European Union for Chapter 25 – Science and Research and Chapter 26 – Education and Culture.
