Thirty-fifth Assembly of the Standing Conference of Cities and Municipalities held
At the invitation of the Secretary General of the Standing Conference of Cities and Municipalities, Djordje Stanicic, the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Predrag Markovic, today attended the 35th annual Assembly of the Standing Conference of Cities and Municipalities, held at Belgrade's Sava Centre under the motto `Achieving better local self-government through partnership between central and local authorities`.

51st session of the Privatisation Committee
At its session held on 2 December 2005 the Privatisation Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia discussed and endorsed the report of the Ministry of the Economy on the activities of the Privatisation Agency for October 2005, with its accompanying Programme of Activities for November 2005, and the report on the activities of the Share Fund of the Republic of Serbia for October 2005.Committee members also endorsed the report on the activities of the Central Securities Registry, Depository and Clearing for October 2005.At today’s session, the Privatisation Agency informed the deputies of the situation regarding companies where contracts with buyers are being terminated under provisions of the Act Amending and Modifying the Privatisation Act, companies where contracts are being terminated through court proceedings, as well as companies where the termination of sale and purchase contracts has become final.

Painting restoration finishes at National Assembly
In keeping with the practice of preserving cultural heritage, inaugurated with the opening of the National Assembly to the public, a special news conference was held today at the National Assembly to mark the end of work on the restoration of a painting that had been walled up in the Assembly’s press room for over 50 years.
