55th sitting of the Privatisation Committee

At its sitting held on 9 February 2006, the Privatisation Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia endorsed the Report of the Ministry of the Economy on Activities of the Privatisation Agency for January 2006, along with the Agency’s Programme of Activities for February 2006.The sitting also saw the endorsement of the Report of the Ministry of the Economy on Activities of the Share Fund of the Republic of Serbia and the Central Securities Registry, Depository and Clearing for January 2006.Committee members discussed a set of the Privatisation Agency’s reports regarding several dairies throughout Serbia: the report on the fulfilment of contractual obligations at Pancevo-based Mlekara, the report on implementation of the contract on sale of socially-owned capital of Kragujevac-based Mlekara, Nis-based Niska mlekara, and Pirot-based Mlekara, as well as a report of the Share Fund of the Republic of Serbia on trading in shares of Senta-based Mlekara from the Share Fund portfolio.

3rd sitting of the Local Self-Government Committee

At its sitting held on 8 February 2006, the Local Self-Government Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia adopted its Plan of Activities for 2006. According to the Plan, the Committee should meet at least once every month; co-operation should also be established with the Ministry of State Administration and Local Self-Government; work on a database on available funding for local self-government units is to be started; and, finally, co-operation should be established with other National Assembly Committees.

On 8 February 2006, the Ambassador of the Republic of Austria, HE Gerhard Jandl, and Austrian MP Wolfgang Grossruck, attended a sitting of the European Integrations Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and presented priorities for Austria’s presidency of the European Union.

45th sitting of the Finance Committee

On 7 February 2006 the Finance Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia held a session to discuss the Proposal of the Decision on Implementing Public Procurement Procedure to Contract for Audits of Final Balances of Budgets of the Republic of Serbia for 2002, 2003 and 2004.By a majority of votes, Committee members adopted the Decision to serve as the basis for the public procurement procedure, in accordance with the Public Procurement Act.

40th sitting of the Agriculture Committee

At its fortieth session, held on 31 January, the Agriculture Committee discussed the Note of the Agriculture Committee Working Group on its visit to flood-stricken areas in the Jablanica and Nisava districts, made on 16 and 17 January 2006, as well as the Report of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management on measures taken to protect agricultural land from flooding and damage through subterranean water.
