As a Parliamentary dimension of the Central-European Initiative, it represents a parliamentary forum of regional character and it is one of the three pillars of the organization (along with Government and Economic dimensions). Its goal is to strengthen multilateral cooperation at the parliamentary level, the cooperation of members regarding the strengthening of political and economic capacities, establishment of partnership on principles of parliamentary democracy and human rights, and to provide assistance to the reforms in countries of the Central-European Initiative.

Plenary sessions of the Parliamentary Dimension are convened twice a year, in the fall (Parliamentary Assembly) and in spring with fewer attending members (Parliamentary Committee). Meetings of working bodies are held between as well as during these sessions.

Our country has been a full member since 2001.

Latest activities:

• The National Assembly hosted the annual session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Parliamentary Dimension of the Central European Initiative. The annual session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Parliamentary Dimension of the Central European Initiative (CEI PD) with the topic "CEI Development Perspectives”, organised by the National Assembly, took place in Belgrade, on 10 and 11 November 2011.
  
  
• Ivan Jovanović, Head of the standing delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in the Parliamentary Dimension of the Central-European Initiative, participated at the meeting of the General Committee for Internal and Political Affairs held on May 7-8, 2011 in Rome.
