National Assembly Standing Delegation to IAO at Orthodox Christian Nations Unity Foundation Conference
The standing delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia to the Interparliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy (IAO), comprising Prof. Dr Mileta Poskurica, Head of the standing delegation, and Aleksandar Cotric, member of the standing delegation, took part in the 20th annual conference of the International Foundation for the Unity of Orthodox Christian Nations, 10-13 February 2014, in Nis, Serbia.

National Assembly Speaker Meets with OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Special Representative on Western Balkans
National Assembly Speaker Dr Nebojsa Stefanovic received the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Special Representative on the Western Balkans Gerard Stoudmann in official visit at the beginning of his term of office as special representative in 2014 and 2015, for the duration of the Swiss and Serbian chairmanship of the OSCE.

Rights of the Child Committee Chairman Talks to Delegation of European Commission Experts about Committee’s Results
The Chairman of the Committee on the Rights of the Child Dr Nebojsa Stefanovic briefed the European Commission delegation on the rights of the child, headed by Ann Vanderkerckhove and Margaret Tuite, on the legal framework in the context of article 64 of the Constitution of the Republic of Serbia, and new information on the division of authority on children’s issues including the control and oversight role.

European Integration Committee Members Meet with Delegation of Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats in European Parliament
In the course of the meeting, the members of the delegation of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament, visiting Serbia under the auspices of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, offered full support to Serbia’s pre-accession talks with the European Union expecting Serbia to be the next Western Balkan country to follow Croatia and become an EU member.

Diaspora and Serbs in the Region Committee Chairman Presents Plaque to Editor-in-Chief of Serbian Weekly from Budapest
The Editor-in-Chief of the Serbian Weekly Newspaper from Budapest Dragan Jakovljevic was presented with a plaque at the National Assembly for his exceptional contribution to the development of friendly relations between Serbia and Hungary, bringing the mother state and Serbs in Hungary closer together, preserving the national and cultural identity of the Serbian community in Hungary, professionalism and keeping the public duly informed.
