Ninth Extraordinary Sitting of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2005

The Ninth Extraordinary Sitting of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2005, convened by the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Predrag Markovic, at the request of 84 deputies, commenced at 5.30 p.


The Ninth Extraordinary Sitting of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2005, convened by the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Predrag Markovic, at the request of 84 deputies, commenced at 5.30 p.m. on 21 July 2005.

The following agenda was set for the session:


    - Bill Repealing the Act on the Foundation of the Public Enterprise for Exploration, Production, Processing and Trade in Oil and Natural Gas, proposed by the Government of the Republic of Serbia.

On the first day of the session, at the start of the debate in principle, the representative of the proposer, the Minister of Mining and Energy in the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Radomir Naumov, informed the deputies of the reasons for proposing the Bill.

On the second day of the session (22 July), the National Assembly concluded debate in principle on the Bill.

On the third day of the session (23 July), the Chairman, Predrag Markovic, opened discussion on the particulars of the Bill Repealing the Act on the Foundation of the Public Enterprise for Exploration, Production, Processing and Trade in Oil and Natural Gas, after which he called a recess until 22 August 2005.

Resuming its session on 22 August, after a recess set by the Chairman, Predrag Markovic, on 23 July, the National Assembly discussed the particulars of the Bill Repealing the Act on the Foundation of the Public Enterprise for Exploration, Production, Processing and Trade in Oil and Natural Gas.

Mr Markovic informed the deputies that members of the Serbian Renewal Movement – New Serbia Deputies’ Group had decided to change the name of the Group, and that it would as of 22 August be named the New Serbia and Independent Deputies 9 + 9 Deputies’ Group.

Having discussed the particulars of the Bill Repealing the Act on the Foundation of the Public Enterprise for Exploration, Production, Processing and Trade in Oil and Natural Gas, on Voting Day the National Assembly adopted the Bill in its entirety, after which the session of the Ninth Extraordinary Sitting of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2005 was concluded.
