In the meeting with the National Assembly Speaker, Kiranakis said that the Youth of the European People’s Party comprises 57 Centre-Right political youth organisations from 39 countries across Europe.

Speaking of the organisation’s activities, Kiranakis said that it has become the biggest youth organisation in Europe which, in addition to its activities within the European People’s Party, has many international activities, adding that one of its main goals is to maintain good relations within the people’s party family and work actively on training and preparing the young generation which is to lead the Europe of tomorrow. Kiranakis stressed that his organisation’s mission is to stimulate further European integration.

Kiranakis spoke of the concept of modern market economy and the role of young people i.e. the perspectives of the European youth employment plan, stressing that youth unemployment is among the bigger problems cause by the economic crisis, explaining the model to be employed to address this important issue.

The National Assembly Speaker thanked Kiranakis for his comprehensive briefing, stressing that youth unemployment is one of the key problems related to economic recovery in Serbia too. Stefanovic informed his guest on the Government and Parliament’s efforts to overcome the consequences of the economic crisis, and all the steps undertaken in the fight against corruption, judiciary reform i.e. improving the economic environment which would boost employment especially among the youth and persuade young experts to remain in the country.
