National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic Holds Consultations on Constitutional Changes with Prime Minister Ana Brnabic and Minister of Justice Maja Popovic

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic, Prime Minister Ana Brnabic and Minister of Justice Maja Popovic held consultations today on the Constitutional amendment in the field of justice.

The Serbian Government had submitted to the National Assembly a Proposal to amend the Constitution of the Republic of Serbia, which, in accordance with procedure, is being further considered by the Committee on Constitutional and Legislative Issues and the National Assembly.

At today's meeting, the officials discussed the further dynamics of the proposed Constitutional amendment and agreed to hold more public hearings in Belgrade, as well as in Nis, Novi Sad and Kragujevac, to keep the public duly informed in a transparent and inclusive manner about the proposal to amend the supreme legal act. There will also be public hearings organised with representatives of the professional public, professors and lawyers, as well as with civil society organisations and representatives of international institutions and organisations.
