Gojkovic said that Serbia truly appreciates the development of relations with Montenegro, adding that she was pleased the Montenegrin Prime Minister’s first bilateral visit is one to Serbia.

“As representatives of the citizens of Serbia and Montenegro we have to respect their wish to cooperate as best we can”, said Gojkovic.

Markovic said that the bilateral relations between the two countries are at their best so far and that he was sure in future Serbia and Montenegro would build even better relations.

Gojkovic and Markovic agreed that furthering parliamentary cooperation is extremely important for overall relations, and Gojkovic invited the Speaker of the Parliament of Montenegro Ivan Brajovic to pay a return visit to Serbia.

The National Assembly Speaker and the Montenegrin Prime Minister agreed that cooperation between the parliamentary committees is important, especially in the spheres of European integration, economy, transportation, security and culture.

Gojkovic and Markovic opined that there is ample potential for economic cooperation and emphasized the importance of realizing joint infrastructural projects, especially the renovation of the Belgrade-Bar railway and construction of Belgrade-Bar highway.
