First Meeting of the Working Group for the Drafting of the Act to amend the Constitution of the Republic of Serbia

At the meeting held on 30 June 2021, the Working Group for the Drafting of the Act to amend the Constitution of the Republic of Serbia determined its future manner of operation.

The Chairperson of the Committee on Constitutional and Legislative Issues Jelena Zaric Kovacevic reminded the Working Group members that the Committee had organised several public hearings on the topic of Constitutional change, attended in addition to MPs, by representatives of the judiciary, bar associations, universities and the civil sector involved in the rule of law.

The members of the Working Group presented proposals on how the Working Group should operate and everyone agreed that the work should be efficient and practiced every day.

The Committee Chairperson informed the Working Group members that the plan was to organise a final public hearing, to be attended by all the participants from the previous seven public hearings.
