At the sitting held on 20 March, the European Integrations Committee completed a discussion in principle on the packet of bills from the field of environmental protection and food protection, which will be included in the agenda for the next National Assembly sitting. The sitting was chaired by Laslo Varga, Committee Chairman.

The bills in question are: the Bill on the Protection against Ionizing Radiation and Nuclear Safety, on Protection against Non-Ionizing Radiation, on Packaging and Packaging Waste, on Waste Management, on Biocides, on Chemicals, on Air Protection, amending and modifying the Law on Environmental Protection, on Nature Protection, on Protection and Sustainable Use of the Fish Fund, on Plant Health, on Food Safety, on Means of Plant Nutrition and Soil Enrichment Products, on Plant Protection Products and on Agriculture and Rural Development.

The bills were elaborated by the representatives of the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management. They stressed that these bills aim to harmonise domestic legislation with the European Union legislation in the field.

The Committee members accepted the listed bills in principle.
