Thirty-Seventh Sitting of the Committee on Labour, Ex-Servicemen’s and Social Issues
Presenting the report, State Secretary at the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy Zoran Martinovic said that, the impact of the global economic crisis notwithstanding, last year, the Ministry settled all of its obligations and paid out all the compensations from the sphere of social, children’s and family, as well as ex-servicemen’s and disability benefits in the amount of 62.5 billion RSD.
Presenting the report, State Secretary at the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy Zoran Martinovic said that, the impact of the global economic crisis notwithstanding, last year, the Ministry settled all of its obligations and paid out all the compensations from the sphere of social, children’s and family, as well as ex-servicemen’s and disability benefits in the amount of 62.5 billion RSD.
Martinovic said that the benefits would be higher by about ten billion RSD this year due to the new Social Welfare Law coming into force, which would cover about 80 thousand new beneficiaries.
The Committee endorsed the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy reports and information and decided to debate the Republic Fund for Pension and Disability Insurance Activity Report at one of the subsequent sittings.
The Committee reviewed and accepted the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development 2010 Activity Information elaborated, in the part relating to labour and employment, by Assistant Minister Ljiljana Dzuver. She stated that last year saw more active efforts on working with the unemployed and subsidizing employment with local self-governments.
The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Meho Omerovic.
