Third Sitting of the First Regular Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2009

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic, convened the Third Sitting of the First Regular Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2009 for Thursday, 26 March, beginning at 2 p.



The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic, convened the Third Sitting of the First Regular Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2009 for Thursday, 26 March, beginning at 2 p.m.

The National Assembly adopted the following agenda:

The Nominations for the Election of Members of the First Composition of the High Judicial Council, submitted by the authorised nominators: the High Judicial Council, the Chamber of Lawyers of Serbia and the Deans of the Law Faculties of Serbia at a joint sitting,

The Nominations for the Election of Members of the First Composition of the State Council of Prosecutors, submitted by the authorised nominators: the High Judicial Council, the Chamber of Lawyers of Serbia and the Deans of the Law Faculties of Serbia at a joint sitting.

The National Assembly conducted a joint unified discussion on the Nominations for the Election of Members of the First Composition of the High Judicial Council and the State Council of Prosecutors until 4 p.m., when the discussion according to the agenda was called to a stop so that the deputies could ask the Government questions in line with article 200 of the Rules of Procedure.

On the second day of work, 27 March 2009, the National Assembly completed the joint discussion on:

1. The Nominations for the Election of Members of the First Composition of the High Judicial Council, submitted by the authorised nominators: the High Judicial Council, the Chamber of Lawyers of Serbia and the Deans of the Law Faculties of Serbia at a joint sitting on 30 January 2009 and

2. The Nominations for the Election of Members of the First Composition of the State Council of Prosecutors, submitted by the authorised nominators: the High Judicial Council, the Chamber of Lawyers of Serbia and the Deans of the Law Faculties of Serbia at a joint sitting on 30 January 2009.

Having completed the discussion, the Chairman, Nikola Novakovic, set 30 March 2009 as Voting Day on the items on the agenda for the sitting, starting at 10 a.m.

Voting Day

On Voting Day, 30 March, the National Assembly elected: Jelena Borovac, Mladen Nikolic, Vucko Mircic, Djurdjin Bjelobaba and Biljana Toskovic, as members of the first composition of the High Judicial Council, and as members of the first composition of the State Council of Prosecutors, the National Assembly elected: Djordje Ostojic, Vladimir Vukcevic, Sasa Ivanic, Ivana Letica-Pavic, Ljubisa Dragasevic, Nebojsa Cirjakovic and Prof. Dr Milan Skulic.

After the voting, the National Assembly Speaker, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic congratulated the members of the High Judicial Council and State Council of Prosecutors on being elected and wished them success on the behalf of the deputies and her own behalf.

Since the National Assembly had completed the discussion on all the items on the agenda and ruled on them, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic, concluded the Third Sitting of the First Regular Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2009.
