The Committee on Labour, Ex-Servicemen’s and Social Issues held its third sitting on 15 December. The sitting was chaired by the Committee Chairman, Meho Omerovic. The sitting was also attended by the State Secretary at the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, Zoran Martinovic and associates, and representatives of the Ministry of Finance.

The Committee members discussed the Republic of Serbia 2009 Budget Bill – Section 19, Ministry of Labour and Social Policy. Elaborating next year’s Budget Bill, the State Secretary at the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, Zoran Martinovic pointed out that the budget envisaged means of about 87.5 billion dinars, which is 5.75% more than in 2008, and that the labour and social policy budget amounts to 12% of the gross domestic product.

Having completed the discussion on the Budget Bill, the Committee accepted the Republic of Serbia 2009 Budget Bill – Section 19, Ministry of Labour and Social Policy by a majority of votes, with the reserved opinions of Committee members Aleksandar Pejcic and Zlata Djeric.

The Committee went on to accept the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Pension and Disability Insurance in principle, with the reserved opinion of Aleksandar Pejcic.
