Sixth Sitting of the Committee on the Economy, Regional Development, Trade, Tourism and Energy
At the sitting, held on 14 November, the Committee on the Economy, Regional Development, Trade, Tourism and Energy considered the Bill on the Confirmation of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and Government of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria on Mutual Stimulation and Protection of Investment.
The Agreement was elaborated by a representative of the Ministry of Foreign and Internal Trade and Telecommunications who stressed that the bilateral economic cooperation between Serbia and Algeria had been on the rise since 2009.
She also stressed that Algeria is Serbia’s most important economic partner in this part of the world particularly when it comes to construction industry, and opined that the Agreement would help stimulate and protect mutual investment.
The Committee endorsed the Bill on the Confirmation of the Agreement by a majority of votes and proposed that when arranging such agreements in future more attention be paid to an equal representation of economic entities from Serbia and abroad.
The sitting was chaired by the Committee Chairperson, Dr Aleksandra Tomic.
