Sixteenth Sitting of the Committee on Labour, Ex-Servicemen’s and Social Issues

The Committee on Labour, Ex-Servicemen’s and Social Issues held its sixteenth sitting on 22 October under the chairmanship of Meho Omerovic, Committee Chairman.



The Committee on Labour, Ex-Servicemen’s and Social Issues held its sixteenth sitting on 22 October under the chairmanship of Meho Omerovic, Committee Chairman. The sitting was attended by the State Secretaries at the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy Zoran Martinovic and the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development Vesna Kovac.

The Committee members considered in principle the Bill determining the maximum number of employees in republic administration, submitted by the Government of the Republic of Serbia. On the behalf of the submitters, State Secretary at the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development Vesna Kovac briefly outlined the Bill for the Committee members. Kovac stressed that the Bill determines the maximum number of permanent employees in republic administration setting it at no more than 28 400 employees, and added that it also stipulates that the data on the number of employed and engaged persons be made public.

Following the discussion, the Committee accepted the Bill determining the maximum number of employees in republic administration in principle, by a majority of votes. Deputies Zlata Djeric and Aleksandar Pejcic, Committee members, reserved their opinions.
