Seventy-First Sitting of the Legislative Committee

At the sitting held on 8 December, the Legislative Committee discussed in principle the Bill on the Budget of the Republic of Serbia for 2010, with its accompanying proposals of decisions granting consent to financial plans for 2010 of the Republic Fund for Pension and Disability Insurance of Employees,the Republic Health Insurance Agency, and the National Employment Service, submitted by the Government.



At the sitting held on 8 December, the Legislative Committee discussed in principle the Bill on the Budget of the Republic of Serbia for 2010, with its accompanying proposals of decisions granting consent to financial plans for 2010 of the Republic Fund for Pension and Disability Insurance of Employees,the Republic Health Insurance Agency, and the National Employment Service, submitted by the Government.

The Committee ruled that the Bill adheres to the Constitution and legal system of the Republic of Serbia and proposed that the National Assembly adopt the Bill on the Budget of the Republic of Serbia for 2010, with its accompanying documents, in principle.

The Legislative Committee also considered the remaining Bills included into the agenda for the Sixth Sitting of the Second Regular Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2009, in principle, and deemed that they adhere to the Constitution and legal system of the Republic of Serbia. The Committee also considered the Bill on the indebtedness of the Republic of Serbia at Eurobank EFG a.d. Belgrade that the Government forwarded to the National Assembly under urgent procedure and deemed that it adheres to the Constitution and legal system of the Republic of Serbia.

At the sitting, the Committee discussed two initiatives for the estimation of constitutionality of the provision of article 85, paragraph 1 of the Law on the Constitutional Court and the estimation of constitutionality of the Law on Restitution of Property to Churches and Religious Communities. The Committee members ruled that the Legislative Committee should inform the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Serbia that the disputed provisions of the Law on the Constitutional Court as well as the Law on Restitution of Property to Churches and Religious Communities adhere to the Constitution of the Republic of Serbia.

The sitting was chaired by the Committee Chairman, Vlatko Ratkovic.
