The Committee on Labour, Ex-Servicemen’s and Social Issues held its seventh sitting on 30 March, under the chairmanship of Meho Omerovic, Committee Chairman. The sitting was attended by State Secretaries of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy Zoran Martinovic and Ljiljana Lucic, Head of the Occupational Safety and Health Directorate Vera Bozic Trefalt and Prof. Dr Darko Martinovic, UNDP expert.

State Secretary Zoran Martinovic submitted the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy Activity Report for the period 7 July 2008 – 20 February 2009, which the Committee accepted.

The Committee members considered the Bill against Workplace Harassment. The Head of the Occupational Safety and Health Directorate, Vera Bozic Trefalt briefly outlined the Bill. The committee decided to propose that the National Assembly accept the Bill against Workplace Harassment in principle.

The Committee also granted consent to the Bills on the Confirmation of ILO Convention 167 on Safety and Health in Construction, ILO Convention 187 on the Promotional Framework for Occupational Safety and Health and an the Documents amending the ILO Statute of 1997.

In the continuation, Prof. Dr Marinkovic elaborated the Bill on the Confirmation of the Revised European Social Charter. The Committee accepted the Bill unanimously.

The Committee members unanimously accepted the Bill on the Confirmation of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Republic of Slovakia on the Protection of War Graves.
