Serbia Strengthening Cooperation with Caribbean States, Says National Assembly Speaker after Meeting with Association of Caribbean States

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ana Brnabic met today with the Secretary General of the Association of Caribbean States Rodolfo Sabonge.

Brnabic welcomed Sabonge to our country, stressing her satisfaction that in previous years Serbia has been strengthening cooperation with the Caribbean states. Both sides agreed that there is a lot of potential for an even more intensive exchange, expressed hope that this will happen in the coming years.

The National Assembly Speaker emphasised the Association’s importance as a forum for the improvement of bilateral relations between the Republic of Serbia and the Caribbean states.

Sabonge informed the Speaker that the Ministerial Council of the Association of Caribbean Sates will be meeting in May in Suriname, with the hope that a representative of Serbia will be present at it.

The Parliament Speaker thanked Sabonge for supporting Serbia in the organisation of the EXPO 2027 specialized exhibition and invited him to promote the Caribbean states in Belgrade during it, adding that she wanted this part of the world to be presented in the best possible way.

Sabonge said that the exhibition is a great opportunity to present all the potential of the Caribbean states and announced that he will work closely with the team to realise this goal.
