Second Sitting of the Committee on the Economy, Regional Development, Trade, Tourism and Energy
At the sitting held on 25 July, the members of the Committee on the Economy, Regional Development, Trade, Tourism and Energy reviewed the Energy Agency 2015 Annual Activity Report.
He added that the security of electrical power, natural gas and oil derivatives supply in 2015 had been satisfactory, which was greatly contributed to by increased coal mining production and better operation of thermal power plants, also mentioning that in 2015 households were for the first time given the opportunity to choose their own electrical power supplier on the free market.
The adjustment of Serbia’s energy production to global and EU demands related to environmental conservation in line with the results of the UN Climate Change Conference is also important for long-term energy stability, said the Council President.
He also informed the Committee members that an organised electricity market was established - SEEPEX, adding that in the coming period more and more Agency activities will be directed, in line with the Law, toward the treatment of customers by energy subjects and the protection of customers’ rights and interests.
Macic said that the Agency’s financial dealings in 2015 went according to the financial plan and its set income and expenses, including reserves for unplanned expenses.
Following a discussion, the Committee members accepted the Energy Agency 2015 Annual Activity Report, by majority vote.
The Committee went on to pass a decision on the termination of term of office of Ivan Ugrin, member of the Council of the Commission for Protection of Competition, due to his reaching retirement age.
The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairperson Snezana B. Petrovic, and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Dr Aleksandra Tomic, Dragomir Karic, Blaza Knezevic, Radmilo Kostic, Jelena Mijatovic, Zoran Bojanic, Snezana R. Petrovic, Ivan Manojlovic, Tomislav Ljubenovic, Branislav Mihajlovic, Dejan Nikolic, Gorica Gajic, Vojislav Vujic and Snezana Paunovic.
