At the second sitting, held on 18 September, the members of the Committee on the Economy, Regional Development, Trade, Tourism and Energy considered, in principle, the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Tourism, Bill amending the Law on Privatisation and the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Energy.

State Secretary at the Ministry of Finance and Economy Goran Petkovic briefly outlined the key modifications contained in the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Tourism, stemming from the general rationalisation measures proposed by the Government. The Bill introduces three key changes i.e. abolishment of the National Corporation for Tourism Development, abolishment of para-fiscal levies i.e. abolishment of the tourist guide exam fee and abolishment of the tourism fee, which should all contribute to savings in the budget of the Republic of Serbia and reduction of levies collected from the citizens.
Following a debate on the Bill, the Committee members accepted the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Tourism, in principle, by a majority of votes.
The Bill amending the Law on Privatisation was presented by State Secretary at the Ministry of Finance and Economy Aleksandar Grubic who said that these amendments and modifications contribute to the consolidation of the budget and financial stability. The amendments relate to the abolition of the Privatisation Agency’s commissions and fees and introduce the obligatory payment of funds into the budget, once creditors’ payments have been settled.
The Committee members accepted this Bill as well, in principle, by a majority of votes.
The Bill amending and modifying the Law on Energy, was presented by the Assistant Minister of Energy, Development and Environmental Protection, Mirjana Filipovic who said that the Bill envisages the abolition of the Energy Efficiency Agency whose scope will be transferred to the Ministry, as well as the marking of oil derivatives which is believed to be able to accrue about 50 million EUR in budget savings.
Following a debate, the Committee members accepted this Bill as well, in principle.

The sitting was chaired by the Committee Chairperson, Dr Aleksandra Tomic.
