Second Sitting of Committee on Petitions and Proposals

At the sitting held on 10 June, the Committee on Petitions and Proposals considered the Report Proposal on Petitions and Proposals submitted to the Committee on Petitions and Proposals of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in the period from 1 March 2010 to 31 May 2010.The Committee members thanked the National Assembly Support Service employees working for the Committee, for their conscientious and dedicated work in the period before the Committee had been fully constituted.



At the sitting held on 10 June, the Committee on Petitions and Proposals considered the Report Proposal on Petitions and Proposals submitted to the Committee on Petitions and Proposals of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in the period from 1 March 2010 to 31 May 2010.

The Committee members thanked the National Assembly Support Service employees working for the Committee, for their conscientious and dedicated work in the period before the Committee had been fully constituted. Debating the Report Proposal, the Committee members stressed the need for direct contact with the citizens who submit proposals to the Committee at least once a month. It was also stressed that it would be desirable that some Committee sittings be held outside of the National Assembly, in one of Serbia’s towns.

The Committee Chairman briefed the Committee members on the initiation of a series of meetings with regulatory, independent institutions elected by the National Assembly, informing them of the meeting with the Ombudsman and Director of the Anti-Corruption Agency which focused on the improvement of cooperation between the Committee on Petitions and Proposals and these independent institutions. At the same time, he invited all interested Committee members to join the talks with the other independent institutions to be held on the upcoming period.

In addition to the debate on the Report Proposal, the Committee members were also briefed on the Information on the work of Support Service employees working for the Committee’s needs, and reviewed the proposals forwarded to the Committee by the public, by subject.

Following the debate, the Committee members endorsed the Report Proposal on Petitions and Proposals submitted to the Committee on Petitions and Proposals of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in the period from 1 March 2010 to 31 May 2010, by a majority of votes.

The sitting was chaired by Sasa Dujovic, Committee Chairman.
