President of French Constitutional Council visits National Assembly

Assembly House was today the venue for a meeting between the Chairman of the National Assembly, Predrag Markovic, and the President of the Constitutional Council of France, Pierre Mazeaud, who is on a visit to the Serbian Constitutional Court.



Assembly House was today the venue for a meeting between the Chairman of the National Assembly, Predrag Markovic, and the President of the Constitutional Council of France, Pierre Mazeaud, who is on a visit to the Serbian Constitutional Court.

Mr Markovic acquainted M Mazeaud with the course of the establishment and development of Serbian institutions, emphasising that, in addition to establishing institutions, it was also important for them to spur each other on. The two officials agreed that strengthening institutionalism in Serbia was the way to embracing Western standards and the road to European integrations. Mr Markovic said that the National Assembly would do everything necessary and within its power to form friendship groups with parliaments of EU member states and countries in the region; establishing such a friendship group would additionally foster institutional ties with France.

The meeting between Markovic and Mazeaud was attended by the Presiding Justice of the Serbian Constitutional Court, Slobodan Vucetic, Justice of the Constitutional Court, Bosa Nenadic, and the French Ambassador to Serbia, Hugues Pernet.
