At its 10th and 11th sittings, held on 30 May 2025 and 6 June 2025, the Culture and Information Committee established a list of proposed candidates who meet the requirements for members of the Council of the Regulatory Body for Electronic Media (REM), as well as a list of organizations that together form a single authorised proposer, in accordance with the Law on Electronic Media.
Given that nine groups of authorised proposers proposed more than two candidates for members of the REM Council, it is necessary, in accordance with the legal obligation, to hold separate meetings of each of the nine groups in order to determine joint proposals for two candidates each.
In order to ensure maximum transparency, the Culture and Information Committee informs the public that today, 9 June 2025, it has sent an official invitation to all authorised proposers within the aforementioned nine groups to meetings, which will be held on Friday, 13 June 2025 and Monday, 16 June 2025.
At these meetings, the authorised proposers will, by agreement or vote, determine the final proposals of two candidates for members of the REM Council, which will be published on the website of the National Assembly.
After holding meetings and selecting all candidates for members of the REM Council, the Culture and Information Committee will organize a public interview with all 18 candidates, within the deadline prescribed by the Law on Electronic Media, after which it will submit lists of candidates to the National Assembly for the election of nine members of the REM Council.
