In his opening address, the Chairman of the Committee on Education, Science, Technological Development and the Information Society Prof. Dr Marko Atlagic greeted the attending on his own behalf and on the behalf of National Assembly Speaker Dr Vladimir Orlic, conveying his sincere wishes that the training be successful and in the interest of children and citizens. He emphasised the importance and commitment of the state to the improvement of the education system in Serbia, apparent in many examples.

"We are witnessing the implementation of the project of accelerated modernisation of the Republic of Serbia in all areas of life and work. The accelerated modernisation of Serbia is also taking place in the field of science, upbringing and education. Over 760 educational and scientific institutions were adapted, reconstructed and built for this purpose and dual education was introduced and expanded, as one of the greatest achievements of modern pedagogy. We have introduced and improved information technologies as well as the basics of artificial intelligence in educational institutions’ programmes, making us one of 11 countries in the world that have managed to do this," stressed Atlagic.

Atlagic spoke about the importance of improving communication and cooperation between parents and teachers, as well as the importance of physical education, as the foundation for the development of future mentally and physically healthy generations.

The participants were also addressed by Minister of Health Prof. Dr Danica Grujicic, Minister of Education Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic Dejanovic and Minister of Sports Zoran Gajic, who emphasised the importance of education and full commitment to the project, inviting everyone to take active part in it, because children's health is a goal around which everyone is united.

The Chairperson of the Subcommittee on Sports Tatjana Medved, at whose initiative this project was launched, briefed the participants on the Subcommittee’s scope of work and goals. She pointed out that one of the Subcommittee’s tasks is to determine the state of affairs in the field of sports and monitor the adoption and implementation of the National Sports Strategy, as well as monitoring the work of the National Council for the Prevention of Negative Events in Sports.

"Certainly, our priorities are the establishment of a stronger strategic and developmental system of sports from preschool age to top sports. The Government of the Republic of Serbia is passionate about the belief that sport can inspire and develop the education, training and skills of young people, which will support them in realising and achieving their social and sporting successes, which does not mean that everyone will be a top athlete, but they will be top men," said Tatjana Medved. She thanked everyone who strongly supported the project, which she believes will make our society better.
