Ninth Sitting of the Committee on Labour, Social Issues, Social Inclusion and Poverty Reduction

At the sitting held on 22 November, the Committee on Labour, Social Issues, Social Inclusion and Poverty Reduction considered the Republic of Serbia 2013 Budget Bill – section 29, Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Policy, in principle.


The sitting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Policy and Ministry of Economy and Finance who elaborated the Bill. They said that the funds allocated in the 2013 budget are 10.4% higher than in the 2012 budget. The budget proposal allocates funds for social payments and regular payment of all rights such as social rights, disabled veterans and children’s rights. Another innovation in the 2013 budget is the right to unemployment benefits.
In the ensuing discussion, the Committee members commented on the proposed budget for 2013 and asked the ministry representatives questions mainly about the funds allocated for disabled veterans care, active employment measures, planned transfers for local self-governments, realisation of the right to social care in certain parts of Serbia, etc.
The Committee went on to adopt the Republic of Serbia 2013 Budget Bill – section 29, Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Policy, in principle, and decided to propose that the Committee on Finance, State Budget and Control of Public Spending accept the Bill.
The Committee also adopted the Decision amending the Decision on the formation of a Subcommittee on the Issues of War Veterans and Victims of the Wars from 1991-1999 in the following composition: Sasa Dujovic, as Chairman and Dr Aleksandar Radojevic, Aleksandar Pejcic, Velimir Stanojevic and Dusan Obradovic as members.

The sitting was chaired by Milica Dronjak, Committee Chairperson.
