National Assembly Standing Delegation Takes Part in SEECP PA Plenary

The members of the National Assembly’s standing delegation to the South East Europe Cooperation Process Parliamentary Assembly (SEECP PA) Bojan Torbica, Enis Imamovic and Djordje Komlenski took part in the SEECP PA 10th Plenary Session in Budva, on 18 and 19 May 2023.

On day one, meetings of the general committees were held, as well as a meeting of the Standing Committee, where the participants agreed on the final text of the Declaration.

At the plenary session, Montenegrin Prime Minister Dritan Abazovic addressed the participants and presented the priorities of Podgorica's presidency.

In his address at the plenary session, Djordje Komlenski said that the National Assembly will continue to attend SEECP meetings in order to contribute to the improvement of economic cooperation and the achievement of peace and stability in the region. He emphasised that it is important that, as a region, we remain committed to democratic values, the rule of law, mutual solidarity and respect for basic human rights, which are the foundations of further economic and social progress. He pointed out that Serbia is committed to the reform process, and that it fully contributes to policies and peace missions in accordance with its rapprochement with the EU. He welcomed the EU's concrete support for the Western Balkans’ enlargement prospects, at the same time adding the EU must remain consistent in its respect for the principles and policy of dialogue, and must not remain mute to the challenges in the region that threaten to destabilise it.
