National Assembly Speaker Receives Ambassador of Republic of Korea to Republic of Serbia

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, MA Nebojsa Stefanovic, received H.E. Kim Kwang-keun, the Ambassador of the of Republic of Korea to Serbia, at his request.


The Ambassador of the Republic of Korea was pleased to meet with the National Assembly Speaker and hoped for the continued development of bilateral and parliamentary relations in particular. In view of one of the current Serbian Government’s foreign policy priorities, Ambassador Kim Kwang-keun emphasised the Republic of Korea’s readiness to invest into Serbia, highlighting the fact that his country has so far made considerable investments into Serbia which had in turn enabled the employment of a significant number of workers. As regards the bilateral cooperation between the two parliaments and mutual support in international institutions and forums, Ambassador Kim Kwang-keun shared his pleasure at Serbia and Republic of Korea’s mutual support of the candidacies of their respective representatives.
National Assembly Speaker Nebojsa Stefanovic also shared his pleasure at the development of overall and economic relations in particular between the two countries and stressed the importance of parliamentary cooperation and cooperation between their respective committees, presenting a list of MPs interested in joining the parliamentary friendship group with the Republic of Korea. The National Assembly Speaker also stressed the importance of the impulse parliaments can give to economic cooperation and informed the guest on the efforts of the highest state officials to ensure stable investment conditions, primarily by establishing the appropriate legal framework, meaning the adoption of laws in line with European standards, which would draw Serbia closer to Euro-integration and guarantee the country’s stability and economic growth.
The officials also exchanged opinions on matters of importance for the two countries, especially the situation on the Korean peninsula and in Kosovo-Metohija.
