The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Dr Vladimir Orlic received today the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China Chen Bo in a farewell visit, thanking her for her personal contribution to the strengthening of relations between the two countries during her service in Belgrade.
He said that the numerous successfully implemented significant projects and comprehensive cooperation in various fields are a confirmation of steel friendship between Serbia and China, based on the excellent personal relations between presidents Aleksandar Vucic and Xi Jinping, which Chen Bo agreed with. The National Assembly Speaker stressed that the Serbian people would be eternally grateful for China’s help in the most difficult moments during the pandemic, as well as for the firm, principled position regarding the preservation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia.
Ambassador Chen Bo said that China will not forget Serbia's strong support for the "One China" policy. In the course of the meeting, she applauded the activities of the National Assembly’s Parliamentary Friendship Group with the People's Republic of China, its size and strong connection with colleagues from China’s National People's Congress. She especially praised the MPs’ and Government’s commitment and efforts invested into further strengthening the strategic partnership established by the leaders of Serbia and China.
She conveyed congratulations on Belgrade being chosen as the host of the International Specialised Exhibition EXPO 2027, saying that her country will be happy to share its experiences concerning the organisation of said event.
The National Assembly Speaker wished the Ambassador good luck and success in her future work, telling her that she will always be welcome in the Republic of Serbia and that the same support and readiness for cooperation, based on the two countries and peoples’ trust and friendship, will also be afforded to her successor.
