In the course of the meeting with the Bundestag representatives, the National Assembly Speaker explained all the steps Serbia is taking on its road to Europe, especially those relating to reform processes and the implementation of the European agreement. Stefanovic asked Germany for support and encouragement in these processes.
The National Assembly Speaker said he expected that Serbia is moving toward the International Conference on 20 December which would mark the beginning of the EU accession process, stressing that Germany’s support would prove very significant to that end.
Speaking of parliamentary cooperation, Stefanovic and the representatives of the German Bundestag agreed that both bilateral cooperation and parliamentary relations should be improved, and launched an initiative to set up a parliamentary friendship group with Serbia in the German Parliament.
