National Assembly Speaker Condemns Murder of Oliver Ivanovic

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Maja Gojkovic severely condemned the murder of Oliver Ivanovic in Kosovska Mitrovica.

“I most severely condemn the shameful shooting of Oliver Ivanovic, a terrorist act directed against all the Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija, the state of Serbia, peace and stability in the region. This foul and cowardly act demands condemnation and a swift reaction from EULEX and UNMIK so that the perpetrators of the crime could be brought to justice as quickly as possible. To this end, I expect the request of the authorities of the Republic of Serbia to participate in the investigation on the territory of Kosovo-Metohija will be met.

The National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and myself, extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the family of Oliver Ivanovic. At this difficult moment, as little consolation as it may be, I would like to stress that Serbia will insist that justice be done and that this crime not go unpunished.”
