National Assembly Speaker Ana Brnabic Meets with Hungarian Ambassador to Serbia

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ana Brnabic met with Hungarian Ambassador to Serbia Jozsef Magyar.

Brnabic and Magyar concluded that the frequent meetings of the officials of the two countries testify to the intensity of friendly relations between Serbia and Hungary, as well as to excellent and extensive cooperation.

Brnabic thanked the Hungarians for the actions of the Hungarian standing representative at the United Nations at the recent session of the UN General Assembly, as well as for the courageous vote in the NATO Parliamentary Assembly when deciding on the status of so-called Kosovo. She stressed that this kind of support from Hungary is something that Serbia will appreciate forever.

At the meeting, the officials highlighted the importance of the establishment of the Serbia-Hungary Strategic Cooperation Council in Palic, June 2023, which will further improve political, economic and all other relations between the two countries, as well as cultural ties between the two peoples.

Considering that this is the Hungarian Ambassador’s first meeting with Brnabic since she became National Assembly Speaker, he wished her good luck and success in presiding over the parliament and stressed that establishing a dialogue with the opposition is an excellent start.

Brnabic pointed out that her desire is that a strong and active Parliamentary Friendship Group with Hungary to formed, so that the parliament can play its role in further strengthening the cooperation between the two countries.
