At the very beginning of the meeting, Bozic pointed out that the two countries enjoy friendly and traditionally good relations, with no outstanding issues, and that bilateral, economic and parliamentary cooperation can be significantly improved. Mentioning the last legislature’s 15-strong Parliamentary Friendship Group with Moldova, she expressed confidence that it would be even bigger in the current one. She applauded the excellent international cooperation in the two countries’ parliamentary delegations and organisations, which in a special way emphasises the strong ties between Moldova and Serbia.

Dobinda agreed that bilateral relations are good and that there is a lot of room to raise economic and parliamentary cooperation to a higher level. He emphasised that Moldova has always been clear in its position regarding Serbia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty and respect for international law. He pointed out that in terms of European integration and negotiations with the European Union, Serbia can be a model for Moldova. He took the opportunity to brief the Deputy Speaker on the current events in Moldova, considering the turbulent situation as regards regional security and Moldova’s geographical position. He said that 800,000 Ukrainians had passed through Moldova, of which Moldova accepted 80,000, providing them with assistance in welfare and healthcare, which put a great burdened on the state budget.

Bozic thanked Moldova for its support of the Serbia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, stressing that Serbia appreciates this attitude, as well as Moldova's actions in international organisations such as the vote against so-called self-proclaimed state of Kosovo’s UNESCO bid and the support it provides in the dialogue with Pristina. She added that in the past two days, the National Assembly considered the Report of the Office for Kosovo-Metohija, presented to the MPs by the President of the State Aleksandar Vucic.

Bozic went on to say that in the past few years, Serbia has created a strong foundation for strengthening the economy, which has prepared the country for the crisis at the global level. She added that though Serbia is a stable country for investment and the world has recognised its strength, it is not immune to economic and energy challenges. She congratulated Moldova on the status of EU candidate, adding that Serbia is ready to help with its experience: "The role of the National Assembly in the European integration process is of great importance in terms of harmonising the national legislation with the EU acquis and we are ready to share our experience with your parliamentarians and I look forward to our cooperation through parliamentary work".

The discussion also touched on energy diversity and supply of gas to countries, as well as the global trend of rising prices. Bozic said that the "Open Balkans" initiative, launched by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, can be an arena for economic cooperation between the two countries.
