National Assembly Delegation Meets with Delegation of Senate of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Baku, Republic of Azerbaijan

On the sidelines of the International Conference dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of Azerbaijan, held on 29 October 2025, in Baku, Republic of Azerbaijan, the delegation of the National Assembly, headed by Deputy Speaker Jovan Janjic, met with the delegation of the Senate of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, headed by the President of the Senate, Yusuf Raza Gilani.

The meeting was also attended by the Head of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with the Republic of Azerbaijan, Dusan Maric, and the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Dragan Vladisavljevic.

In the course of the meeting, the officials exchanged views on the possibility of improving interparliamentary cooperation and on the importance of parliamentary diplomacy. National Assembly Deputy Speaker Jovan Janjic assessed that there is room for deepening interparliamentary cooperation and recalled the previously signed international agreements between the two states’ institutions.

They also expressed interest in strengthening relations between parliaments and in this regard, the President of the Senate of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Yusuf Raza Gilani, extended an invitation to the interparliamentary conference with the topic "Peace, Security and Development", which will be held in November of this year in Islamabad.
