Mobile Parliament in Krusevac

Since 2005 the National Assembly has been implementing activities aimed at raising its level of transparency and accessibility for the citizens.

These activities take place as part of different public outreach programmes. One of the programmes is the so-called Mobile Parliament where the MPs and National Assembly Support Service staff visit Serbian towns and municipalities to inform the citizens about the work done by the National Assembly and its MPs.Mobile Parliament visited Krusevac on 17 June 2013.In an informal and open atmosphere on the premises of the local self-government, the citizens of Krusevac had the opportunity to learn about the National Assembly’s i.e. the MPs’ work, as well as pose questions about various topics of interest.MPs from Krusevac, Vesna Rakonjac, Miodrag Djidic and Srdjan Milivojevic responded to the citizens’ questions. The citizens and MPs present were greeted by the Mayor of Krusevac, Bratislav Gasic, who also headed the meeting. The event was followed by the local media, and a press release was published on the City of Krusevac website http://www.krusevac.rs/.So far, seven Mobile Parliaments have taken place and Krusevac is the 19th city to have been visited. The Mobile Parliament in Krusevac was organised with the support of project Strengthening the Oversight Role and Transparency of the National Assembly implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and financed by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
