MPs at Seminar on Application of EU Gender Equality Criteria in Western Balkans

The representatives of the Committee on Human and Minority Rights and Gender Equality, Meho Omerovic, Tamara Tripic and Bojana Bozanic, took part in the seminar on “Application of EU Gender Equality Criteria in the Western Balkans”.


The seminar took place in Podgorica, on 27 and 28 November 2013, and was organised by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Enlargement.
The seminar focused on the experiences of the countries in the region and practices they employ to boost gender equality, with a special emphasis on the European Parliament’s report on gender equality in the Western Balkan countries and issues relating to the measures set out in the European Pact for Gender Equality (2011-2020), Strategy for equality between women and men (2010-2015) and Council Recommendation 96/694/EC on balanced participation of women and men in the decision-making process.
