MPs Talk to Representatives of Union of Serbian Organisations for Support of People Living with HIV/AIDS
The President and members of the informal parliamentary group for sustainable development, Jelena Travar Miljevic, Dejan Radenkovic and Ivan Karic spoke today at the National Assembly House with the representatives of the Union of Serbian Organisations for the support of people living with HIV/AIDS (USOP) regarding the commemoration of 1 December, World AIDS Day.
The MPs stressed that it is essential introduce new drugs onto the HIV positive list so that the patients could have access to modern medical treatment and that the Criminal Code should be amended to ensure the decriminalization of HIV/AIDS.
The Union representatives also announced numerous activities organised by the civil sector to mark World AIDS Day, among them a friendly football match at the Olimp Sports Centre on 30 November and a concert at the National Theatre titled Music for Health on 1 December, and invited the MPs to attend the events.
