MPs Irena Vujovic and Aleksandra Djurovic Meet with Georgian Ambassador David Bakradze
MPs Irena Vujovic and Aleksandra Djurovic met today, at the National Assembly House, with H.E. David Bakradze Georgian Ambassador to Serbia on non-residential basis.
Irena Vujovic, Deputy Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs Committee, stressed that the two parliaments’ respective foreign affairs committees should establish closer cooperation, sharing her firm belief that the National Assembly would soon set up a Parliamentary Friendship Group with Georgia. She also briefed Ambassador Bakradze on the Serbian Government’s activities towards improving the investment climate in Serbia.
MP Aleksandra Djurovic thanked Ambassador Bakradze for Georgia’s principled position as regards the preservation of Serbia’s territorial integrity. Djurovic also drew attention to the importance of cooperation between Serbia and Georgia in international institutions, especially PACE. Presenting the activities of the Serbian delegation to PACE, Djurovic focused on the activities aimed at upholding human rights on the territory of Kosovo-Metohija.
Ambassador Bakradze was pleased by the progress Serbia achieved as regards European integration, opining that an exchange of visits between parliamentary friendship groups would greatly contribute to the improvement of bilateral relations between Serbia and Georgia. The officials also discussed the possible abolition of diplomatic and official business visas for Serbian citizens travelling to Georgia.
