Deputy Speakers of the Serbian National Assembly, Natasa Jovanovic and Bozidar Delic, along with the Members of Parliament of the Serbian Radical Party Deputy Group Amjad Migati, Tomislav Ljubenovic, Marina Toman and Goran Cvetanovic, received today the delegation of the Am-Ram municipality form Jerusalem, headed by Sarhan Salaymeh. The Palestinian Ambassador to Belgrade, Mohammed Nabhan, also attended the meeting.

The participants exchanged information on the current political situations in Serbia and Palestine and certain similar problems the two nations face in both internal and foreign policy.

The representatives of the Palestinian delegation pointed out the state of Israel’s disregard for basic human rights demonstrated after the erection of the wall dividing Jerusalem in two in 2000. It is their belief that the gap between the two nations is deepening and that the negotiations that should lead to a peaceful and just solution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict are blocked. According to the guests, the City of Jerusalem where the holiest places of Christians, Muslims and Jews are located, represents a world legacy and should belong to everyone.

Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Natasa Jovanovic particularly emphasised that the solution of the Kosovo and Metohija issue is paramount for Serbia and its people and that Serbia is prepared to offer the highest degree of autonomy to the Albanian side.
