Biography
Prof. dr Jovan Janjic (1963, Vrbic, Krupanj), doctor of culturological science and master of laws. One of the leading Serbian authors in the field of Christian culture.
Since 2021, scientific associate at the Institute for Political Studies in Belgrade where he manages the Centre for Memory Culture. At the same time, as associate professor, he teaches at the Higher School of Communication in Belgrade.
Before that, he taught at the Faculty of Business Studies and Law at the Faculty for Information Technology and Engineering of the University “Union – Nikola Tesla” in Belgrade.
Earlier, he worked as a journalist in NIN, was advisor in the Ministry of Religion in the Government of the Republic of Serbia, general director and at the same time editor-in-chief of the “Prosveta” publishing house (Belgrade), and afterwards the manager of “Bezanijska Kosa” Home of the Belgrade Gerontology Centre, he was also engaged as the following: editor-in-chief of the oldest Belgrade literary gazette “Knjizevnost”, editor-in-chief of the publishing branch of the Association of Writers of Serbia, manager of the support services of the Society for the construction of the Memorial Centre for Serbian victims of genocide in the 20th century, acting director of Cer Memorial Complex LTD Sabac…
Engaged in scientific and literary work.
It was his words that made the world better acquainted with the Serbian Patriarch Pavle and the Serbian spiritual being.
Most of his books have been reprinted. One of the bestselling Serbian authors. His work has been translated into a number of foreign languages: Russian, Romanian, French, English, Macedonian, Italian, Arabic.
