Markovic expressed his satisfaction with the National Assembly’s cooperation with the OSCE Mission so far, as well as his belief that it will continue to develop and advance in the future.

Vladimir Valdes García, Head of the Democratisation Department of the OSCE Mission, congratulated Aleksandar Markovic on his appointment to the position of Chairman of the Committee on Human and Minority Rights and Gender Equality, stressing that he looked forward to even more intensive upcoming cooperation with the new parliamentary legislature. The talk revolved around organising a seminar for the new MPs and familiarising them with the good cooperation practices.

The meeting was also attended by Committee Deputy Chairman Boris Bajic who emphasised that, as a resident of AP Vojvodina, he can testify to the importance Serbia attaches to caring for and improving minority rights, and that he was looking forward to additionally strengthening and building up the cooperation with the OSCE Mission.

In the course of the meeting, the officials discussed concrete steps in the realisation of future projects, with special reference to the organisation of Committee meetings outside the National Assembly seat, as well as public hearings.

The meeting was also attended by Sarah Agnes Bodens, Senior Governance Advisor, Bogdan Urosevic, National Governance Officer, and Programme Assistant Jadranka Masic Pavlovic.
