Head of Parliamentary Friendship Group with Hungary Meets with Hungarian Embassy Chargé D'affaires

The Head of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Hungary, Zarko Micin, met today, at the National Assembly House, with the Hungarian Embassy Chargé D'affaires Zoltan Varga-Haszonitis and the Embassy’s First Secretary Gabor Galantai.

The Head of the PFG with Hungary opined that the cooperation between Serbia and Hungary is at an exceptionally high level, but that there is still ample room for improvement. Micin stressed that the Parliamentary Friendship Group boasts 28 members - nine members more than in the previous legislature, which, he added, demonstrates the MPs’ growing interest in cooperation with Hungary. He opined that the Parliamentary Friendship Group should be a bond in the dialogue between the two countries, adding that Serbia finds Hungary’s Euro-integration experience highly significant. The Head of the PFG with Hungary stressed that Serbia and Hungary should cooperate at the interparliamentary level, as well as in the spheres of agriculture and economy and all other areas.

The Hungarian Embassy Chargé D'affaires agreed with the Head of the Parliamentary Friendship Group that the bilateral relations between Serbia and Hungary have been on the rise and that the cooperation between the two governments is intensifying. He also underlined the importance of interparliamentary cooperation for the establishment of close relations between the two countries. Varga-Haszonitis went on to emphasise the importance of Serbia’s EU accession, saying that Hungary fully supports Serbia on its road to Euro-integration.
