Gojkovic in Official Visit to China

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Maja Gojkovic will be paying an official visit to the People’s Republic of China on 26-30 November at the invitation of the Chairman of the Chinese National People's Congress Zhang Dejiang.

Gojkovic and Zhang will be meeting on Monday, 27 November, and will on the occasion sign a Protocol on the establishment of a Commission for Cooperation between the National Assembly and the Chinese National People's Congress, forming a joint parliamentary body under the auspices of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Serbia and China and their commitment to expand political, economic, social and cultural relations.

The Commission for Cooperation between the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and the Chinese National People's Congress is the result of the Memorandum of Understanding between the two parliaments signed in July during the visit of the Chairman of the Chinese National People's Congress to Serbia.

Gojkovic will also be meeting with the Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference Yu Zhensheng and the Vice-Chairperson of the Chinese National People's Congress Shen Yueyue, and will also visit the ZTE Corporation for telecommunications equipment and systems.

The Parliament Speaker will also visit Shanghai where she will meet with the officials of the city’s People’s Congress and the Shanghai Women and Children’s Centre.

The National Assembly delegation will also include Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman and Head of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with China Prof. Dr Zarko Obradovic, and PFG members MA Jadranka Jovanovic and Dragomir Karic.
