23rd Sitting of the Culture and Information Committee

At the sitting held on 13 December 2025, the Culture and Information Committee considered the supplemental documentation for a candidate for member of the Council of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media.

Committee Chairperson Nevena Djuric reminded the Committee members that at the previous sitting the Committee had allowed the authorised proposer an additional deadline to expand its proposal for REM Council member and that the supplemental documentation had been submitted within said deadline.

Following a discussion the Committee adopted a Report noting that the deficiencies of the proposal for REM Council member had been eliminated.

The Committee went on to consider the Objection lodged by the Civic Initiative and after discussion, it did not adopt it.

Before concluding the sitting, Committee Chairperson Nevena Djuric urged the representatives of the non-governmental sector and national councils of national minorities to meet and work together to find a compromise solution acceptable for both sides, so as to be able to set up a quality REM Council.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairperson Nevena Djuric and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Prof. Dr Marko Atlagic, Mgr Akos Ujhelyi, Dr Jovan Janjic, Radomir Lazovic, Nebojsa Bakarec, Branimir Jovanovic, Dunja Simonovic Bratic, MA Jadranka Jovanovic, Natasa Jovanovic, Dusan Maric, Lepomir Ivkovic and Ivana Rokvic.
