Forty-Seventh Sitting of the Justice and Administration Committee

At the sitting held on 30 March, the members of the Justice and Administration Committee considered in principle the Bill amending and modifying the Law on General Constitutional Procedures, Bill amending and modifying the Law on Official Use of Languages and Scripts, Bill amending and modifying the Act on Publication of Laws and other Enactments and on Publication of the Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia, Bill on the Confirmation of the Convention on the Service Abroad of Judicial and Extrajudicial Documents in Civil or Commercial Matters, Bill on the Confirmation of the Convention on the Taking of Evidence Abroad in Civil or Commercial Matters, Bill on the Confirmation of the Agreement between the Republic of Serbia and Montenegro on Legal Aid in Civil and Criminal Matters, Bill on the Confirmation of the Extradition Agreement between the Republic of Serbia and Montenegro, Bill on the Confirmation of the Agreement between the Republic of Serbia and Montenegro on Mutual Implementation of Court Decisions in Criminal Matters and the Bill on the Confirmation of the Council of Europe Convention on the Protection of Children against Sexual Exploitation and Sexual Abuse.



At the sitting held on 30 March, the members of the Justice and Administration Committee considered in principle the Bill amending and modifying the Law on General Constitutional Procedures, Bill amending and modifying the Law on Official Use of Languages and Scripts, Bill amending and modifying the Act on Publication of Laws and other Enactments and on Publication of the Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia, Bill on the Confirmation of the Convention on the Service Abroad of Judicial and Extrajudicial Documents in Civil or Commercial Matters, Bill on the Confirmation of the Convention on the Taking of Evidence Abroad in Civil or Commercial Matters, Bill on the Confirmation of the Agreement between the Republic of Serbia and Montenegro on Legal Aid in Civil and Criminal Matters, Bill on the Confirmation of the Extradition Agreement between the Republic of Serbia and Montenegro, Bill on the Confirmation of the Agreement between the Republic of Serbia and Montenegro on Mutual Implementation of Court Decisions in Criminal Matters and the Bill on the Confirmation of the Council of Europe Convention on the Protection of Children against Sexual Exploitation and Sexual Abuse. The Committee went on to consider the petition of Vojka Kukolj.

The Committee members accepted all the Bills in principle by a majority of votes, with the reserved opinions of deputy Vjerica Radeta on all the Bills. The Committee submitted an amendment to article 22 of the Bill amending and modifying the Law on General Constitutional Procedures and by a majority of votes accepted the amendments submitted by deputy Nenad Konstantinovic to articles 3 and 4 of the Bill on the Confirmation of the Convention on the Service Abroad of Judicial and Extrajudicial Documents in Civil or Commercial Matters, as well as the amendments to articles 3 and 4 of the Bill on the Confirmation of the Convention on the Taking of Evidence Abroad in Civil or Commercial Matters.

The Committee went on to consider the petition of Vojka Kukolj drawing attention to a disregard of the decision of the Constitutional Court of Serbia regarding the proceedings conducted before the First Municipal Court in Belgrade. Following a discussion on the petition, the Committee members decided to send a memo to the High Judicial Council and Basic Court in Belgrade for further procedure so as to honour the decision of the Constitutional Court of Serbia.

The sitting was chaired by the Committee Chairman, Bosko Ristic.
